ECS

CBD and Endocannabinoids system

Our Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is an internal system in our bodies that interacts with cannabinoids including CBD. The ECS is made up of receptors that can trigger various signalling molecules at a cellular level. The ECS has two main receptors in the body CB1 and CB2.

Endocannabinoids bind to CB1 and CB2 receptors, we have natural internally-produced endocannabinoids (for example anandamide) that activate these receptors. Receptors act as a lock and key only activating when the signalling molecule such as endocannabinoids bind to them. Our ECS maintains internal balance (homeostasis).

The ECS has two main receptors (points of action) in the body.
